About Jennifer…
Jennifer Greenwood is a Nantucket-based studio jeweler whose work marries delicate craftsmanship with organic, understated luxury. Since opening her namesake studio and showroom in the island’s downtown historic district in 2017, Jennifer has cultivated a devoted following of collectors—individuals with a quiet, confident sense of style, drawn to pieces that are subtle, tactile, and rich with character. Her pieces embody the tension between refinement and rustic imperfection, much like Nantucket itself: weathered yet graceful, simple yet sophisticated.
A lifelong student of the arts, Jennifer's path to jewelry was unconventional but richly layered, shaped not by a single school or institution, but through years of immersive learning, curiosity, and experimentation. A senior year Art History class proved to be foundational and over the following years of study and travel, Jennifer’s fascination with form, texture, and cultural nuance took shape. A self-described "perpetual student”, and largely self-taught as a metalsmith, her technical and design skills evolved organically over time, driven by a hands-on approach and an enduring fascination with the natural materials she works with. Years of immersion in the island’s independent jewelry scene helped to hone her skills, industry knowledge, and individual aesthetic.
Jennifer’s pieces are hand-fabricated from start to finish, using precious metals and one-of-a-kind stones. She favors irregular cuts and asymmetrical silhouettes, incorporating soft edges and her signature hand-hammered texture which gently catches and releases light to create pieces that glow with a quiet, organic luster. The result is jewelry with a soul—understated yet expressive, refined but never overworked.
While her studio is located on Nantucket, Jennifer’s aesthetic is not tied to any single place. Instead, it’s shaped by a love of discovery, a respect for tradition, and a belief in the power of simplicity. Each piece invites a sense of intimacy between maker and wearer, honoring the beauty of imperfection and the art of things made slowly, thoughtfully, and by hand.
